Below you will find common FAQ that clients ask to help make your visit easier.
Q. What if my pet can’t be off leash?
A. While it’s great if your pets can be off leash I know there are circumstances that simply don’t allow that. Leashes can be removed from photos.
Q. How should I prepare for our photography session?
A. If a pet will be joining the photo, groom your dog if necessary the day before to remove stains around the eyes, mud, etc. Take the time to coordinate your clothing with the location of the session. Make sure you bring a leash that is narrow and easy to edit and a collar that is stylish in case it isn’t removed in the photo.
Q. How long will the session run and am I charged extra if it runs longer?
A. Sessions generally run 1-2 hours; however, I take the time necessary to get the best photos. Some pets and families are natural and the session runs smoothly while others take a little TLC because your pet is nervous, older, kids get tired, etc.
Q. I am a novice when it comes to sizes and products. How can you help me create an artistic display for my walls?
A. This is one of the reasons I coach you along the way. I have invested in unique visualization software that takes all the guesswork out of the process by showing you exactly what your images will look like on the walls of your own home.
Q. Do you have props and do we have to use them?
A. On location I generally use the environment or existing items in your home as your prop (e.g. stumps, trees, benches, columns, fences, etc). In the studio I do have furniture and props which can be used but they are not required.
Q. Does my dog have to be obedience trained?
A. No your dog does not have to be obedience trained although it will go more smoothly if your dog know sit, down and stay. For liability issues I do not photograph aggressive dogs.
Q. Can’t I just purchase the downloads and take them to Walgreens, etc. for printing?
A. It is important to me to provide you with professional works of art to hang on your wall which requires a professional print house to not only give you high grade professional products and paper but to also keep the correct colors. Taking your digital photos to places such as Walgreens, Target, Walmart, Costco, etc. can highly disappoint you when the colors don’t match.
Q. What is included in the “Creative Fee”?
A. Each photo session has a creative fee which first covers the pre-consultation where I go over your needs such as what types of photos you are looking for (candids, portraits, action, end of life, etc). It also includes the photographers time and talent, planning and preparation, the photo session, a gallery of professionally edited photos and the ordering session where I will help you create a custom wall display. You can count on professional photo paper and photos will be re-touched (minor imperfections. More involved re-touching will cost additional).
Q. How long will I have to wait to see the photos?
A. You will see the photos per your package within 1 week and your ordered products will arrive 2-3 weeks after depending on what is ordered.
Q. What is a “Day in the Life” session?
A. This session is more like a documentary than a standard portrait session. I would spend a 1/2 day or full day with your family and pets capturing your life. I would photograph how you interact whether it’s kids helping mom bake cookies, dad reading the kids a book on the couch, the kids laying with their favorite pup, a picnic or day at the zoo, playing games, etc. These are moments you will look back on and smile because they capture the true essence and love within your family dynamic.
Q. Where are you located?
A. I am located in Denver, Colorado but can travel. (extra charges apply)
Q. Do you have gift certificates?
A. Yes you can get them in the domination of your choice and the certificate can be mailed to you or the recipient.
Q. Do you accept payment plans on products?
A. I absolutely understand that having custom art on your walls is an investment. I try to work with clients and can split your product order into 3 payments. Please note that the order will not be submitted for printing until the final payment has been received.
